In the fiercely cutthroat world of interactive entertainment, it's common for fresh competitors to fade away as swiftly as they enter the stage.
However this new installment is striving to alter that.
This is the latest entry in a long-standing combat FPS franchise frequently positioned as a more realistic alternative to the CoD series.
The franchise has never quite succeeded to rival its best-known competitor in regards of units sold or players, but there are signs the new installment could reduce the distance.

Among those lessons was to get the community engaged soon, and the team initiated exclusive fan playtests in recent months.
Their "response was explosively positive," states Rebecka.
A further missing ingredient from Battlefield 2042 was a story mode, which has been brought back for this release.
The UK studio project head Fasahat "Fas" Salim is the person responsible for "making sure those levels are as fun and interesting as feasible for the audience."
Despite claims that the scope of the game had created pressure for the multiple teams partnering internationally to build the title, he is positive about the process.
"Partnering with diverse perspectives, varied heritages, it's a very fascinating environment to be engaged with daily," he shares.
"This entire strategy has been something new but additionally very inspiring because we are collaborating with team members from around the globe."
Regarding the pressure on the crew, he says: "We experience demand but also it's exciting.
"We're dealing with a large project. It's likely the most significant that most of us have ever been involved in."
Emerging Artist Contributes New Insight
This is definitely true of no less than a single staff, VFX specialist Vlad.
The recent hire produces the lighting elements that shape the atmosphere, tone, and direction of the story mode.
