Ukraine's energy systems have come under increased attacks in recent weeks

Throughout the evening, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have caused blackouts in large parts of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

Simultaneously, a minor was killed in a distinct aerial attack in the southeastern region in the country's south-east, as reported by area administrators.

Russian forces has increased attacks on power infrastructure over the past few days, while Ukrainian leadership has called for "substantial measures" from international partners to increase pressure on Russia.

He said that 450 drones and over thirty rockets targeted the country's power systems, characterizing such assaults as "strategic and deliberate" and against "essential services" as winter approaches.

Energy officials said Russia was "launching a major assault" and maintenance teams were laboring to restore power.

Several of the people injured in the assaults on the capital have been transported for medical care, according to municipal representatives.

The entire country is on alert for advanced weapon attacks, which are more difficult to identify.

Government officials told reporters that Russia was intentionally trying to destroy the national power system, with strikes already disrupting energy systems.

Officials stated utility staff and authorities were preparing for further attacks.
