Iranian Forces State Attack on US Base in the Kingdom of Bahrain, As Part of Regional Retaliatory Strikes.
Iran's military claims to have hit a American military facility in Bahrain, as Iran launched strikes across the region in response for a significant and ongoing offensive against it by the United States and Israeli forces.
Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an vicinity in the area of the main base of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The full scale of any damage is not yet known and the American officials has not commented.
Missile Defenses Activated
In other parts of the Middle East, the UAE, Qatar and the State of Kuwait - all home to American military installations - stated they have engaged and destroyed missiles in their territorial skies.
In the Qatari capital, Qatar's defence ministry stated it had successfully engaged several missiles seemingly aimed at the Al Udeid Air Base, the biggest US military installation in the region.
Operation "Truthful Promise 4"
Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said in a statement it was striking US bases and assets as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the strikes on Iran initiated by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday.
That preceding assault - initiated at around 06:15 GMT - has so far targeted locations linked to the Iranian leadership, with President Trump urging the people of Iran to revolt against the leadership.
Regional Fallout
In Israel, air raid sirens sounded nationwide after the Israel Defense Forces stated it had identified an incoming Iranian missile barrage.
The Ministry of Defence of the UAE announced that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"UAE air defence systems responded to the missiles with notable success and shot down a several projectiles," the statement continued.
Officials reported debris fell on a populated district in the capital, resulting in some structural damage and the death of one civilian.
The United States Air Force operates from the Al Dhafra base, south of Abu Dhabi, along with the UAE Air Force.
