Former Doctor Charged with Sexual Assault Charges Against Thirty-Eight Individuals in His Care
Legal authorities report that a ex- physician stands accused of committing assaults involving thirty-eight individuals who were under his care.
Details of the Grave Allegations
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with dozens of sexual offences – including some against children younger than 13 – spanning the period from 2017 to 2021.
One deputy chief CPS official commented, “Our prosecutors have diligently worked to assist a thorough and intricate investigation, carefully reviewing the available evidence to determine that there is sufficient evidence to bring the case to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
The Investigation
The charges follow what police called a “detailed inquiry” into reported sexual offences at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall hospital.
The defendant will appear at the local magistrates' court on 20 January.
List of Offences
Prosecutors said the forty-five sexual offences he is charged with:
- Fifteen counts of sexual assault.
- Seventeen counts of penetrative assault.
- 9 counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- Three counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
- One count of attempted penetrative assault.
