A Pig's Tale: Hog Named Six Seven Spared by Miami-Dade Leader.

While perhaps not at the identical stature as pardoning holiday birds, but the mayor of Miami-Dade experienced a Donald Trump moment this week by ceremoniously saving the life of a swine named Six Seven.

Daniella Levine Cava carried out the annual tradition at the Cuban-style Latin Cafe 2000 in the core of Miami’s Little Havana neighborhood.

“The swine has done no wrong. She deserves this act of mercy. She has committed zero crimes,” stated the mayor in a speech with clear references to the sheer volume of pardons issued since the beginning of a second term in office.

“If we disregard eating six or seven apples per day,” Levine Cava continued. “I hope she experiences a long and happy life away from worry.”

The gathering, either celebrating or rejecting the area's customary feast of feasting on pork during the holidays, was established to replicate the yearly bird sparing at the White House.

The swine, contributed by a Coral Gables firefighter, was given its name from the modern linguistic fad of young people shouting “six seven” – inspired by a rap song lyric – often seemingly at random. The phrase became so pervasive that a prominent word reference recently declared “six-seven” its top term for the year.

A New Life

This particular pig is now destined to live out its days at a rural sanctuary “far from charcoal and roasting pans”, according to the organizers' announcement.

“The pig pardon has become one of our favorite ways to open the holiday season,” said the event host, in a particularly upbeat message.

“It captures the essence of Miami: joyful, diverse, and grounded in customs that unite the community. Annually, we are delighted to mark tradition and kindness in a way distinctively Miamian.”

Attendees enjoyed a plant-based fare of croquettes and strong coffee as they marked Six Seven’s big moment.
